  • Patients also have an option to choose either medical management of the tumor or removal via surgical treatment.
  • Open surgery may also be an option as it is the identified traditional surgical method.
  • Laparoscopic adrenalectomy surgery may also be performed on patients.
  • Patients often undergo chemotherapy as it is one of the methods that can help prevent the cancer from spreading.
  • Surgical methods or removing tumors often require making a small incision at the back of the abdomen, somewhere between the person’s ribs and hip.
  • The use of laparoscopic adrenalectomy is not as invasive as the traditional method of surgery, as it involves making a number of small incisions before putting or inserting a laparoscope.
  • In order to completely remove the tumor, the surgeon must completely remove the adrenal gland, without room for making errors or leaving cancerous cells.
