What Causes Chicken Pox Disease | Causes of Chicken Pox Scarring

Chicken Pox Causes:

Because of the highly contagious nature of chicken pox, a lot of effort is exerted toward the greater understanding on the factors that causes it. Years of medical research has yielded the following factors as the causes of chicken pox disease:
  • Coming to close or physical contact with an affected person. The possibility of acquiring the disease is greater if one touches the cloudy liquid that forms on the lesions. When this happens, acquiring the disease is almost a sure possibility because the liquid is very contagious.
  • Sharing the utensils of an affected person. This practice is dangerous especially when one shares garments with an affected person. This is because the virus causing the disease may stick to garments. When the garments worn by an infected person is not properly sterilized, the virus will still be there. That is why it is recommended to wash garments with warm water and chlorine.
  • A weak immune system. When a person’s immune system is weak, it is like an invitation for becoming infected with chicken pox. That is why it is always important to keep one’s immune system strong.
  • There is also the possibility of acquiring the disease when a person inhales the airborne respiratory droplets from an infected person.

Chickenpox Causes

Main cause of chickenpox infection is Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) belonging to the family of herpes virus. This communicable disease spreads due to direct contact to the skin or through virus present in the droplets of coughing and sneezing of an infected person. After the virus enters the body, it multiplies in numbers in the lymph nodes and then travels through the blood and finally infects spleen and the liver and then rests in the nerve roots. Later triggering of the condition takes place automatically or due to stress and lower immunity.
