Infected Ear Symptoms | What are Signs of Ear Infection
Ear Infection Symptoms:
The most common indicator for having an ear infection is the presence of pain. The severity of the pain does not really matter; as long as it is present, it is a key indicator that one has some form of ear infection. However, when pain is the only symptom that a person feels, care should be taken to make sure that indeed the pain is due to ear infection. This is because the proximity of the organ to the throat and the nose can sometimes deceive a person into thinking that the ear is the source of the pain when in fact it could either be the nose or the throat. The other signs of ear infection are the following:
- Irritability in the ears. In most cases, irritability takes the form of a tickling sensation in the ears that becomes annoying as time moves on.
- Difficulty in sleeping.
- Fluid draining from one or both ears.
- Loss of balance.
- Inability to perceive low frequency sounds such as a whisper, associated with other signs of hearing difficulty.
- The sensation of something blocking the ear.
- In some instances of ear infection, dizziness and fever accompany the condition.
