What are Freckles or Ephlides | Sunburn Freckles | Simple Freckles
Freckles Types and Information:
Also known as Ephelides, freckles are spots on your skin that are colored tan, brown, or black and appear in multiple numbers. These freckles often appear on skin that is exposed to the rays of the sun and are more prevalent in people who are fair skinned or light skinned and are prone to sunburns.- Usually, freckles are seen more on a person’s face since this is the part of the person’s body that is seldom covered up when the individual is out in the sun. Other parts that are also prone to have freckles include the shoulders, the arms, the hands, and other areas of the body that are constantly exposed to the sun’s rays.
- While freckles often appear on a person in one particular color or shade, some people suffer from freckles of varying shades.
- Freckles are divided into two distinct types: sunburn freckles and simple freckles. The small freckles you see on your face or arms that are tan or light brown in color are often simple freckles, while those darker and bigger freckles that are often seen on a person’s back or shoulders are sunburn freckles. Sunburn freckles usually have jagged edges and are larger in size than simple freckles.
