How to Use and Prepare Apple Cider Vinegar for Heartburn?

Heartburn is a painful or burning sensation in the esophagus caused by the regurgitation of gastric acid from the stomach. It is a very common source of discomfort in this day and age and instant relief can be achieved with the use of natural remedies.

Vinegar for Heartburn

One of the major causes for heartburn is the excess acid in the stomach coming mostly from acidic foods.

For this reason, a person’s course of action would be to counter the acidity with an antacid. However, vinegar which is acidic is a very popular choice for the treatment of heartburn. So why exactly is that?

The use of vinegar for heartburn has always been a traditional yet unproven method.

However, recent studies had shown support in this remedy due to the vinegar’s active ingredient which is the acetic acid.

As it turns out, after taking in vinegar, the sensation brought about by the acetic acid at the top of the throat causes a flood of activity in the salivary glands.

The saliva that was produced with the movement aids in the digestion and reduces the heartburn. As it is, many natural heartburn remedies are based on how efficiently they can produce saliva.
