Intestinal worms are actually parasites that plague both men and animals. These worms are found in a person’s gastrointestinal tract and are parasites that feed on the person’s body. Most of these worms infest the intestinal wall of the person it is living in and are often the cause of a lot of health problems. Here are a few more facts about intestinal worms:
  • The most susceptible to intestinal worms are children, but adults can be infested by them too.
  • These worms can be either visible to the naked eye or are microscopic and need to be seen with the use of a powerful microscope.
  • There are hundreds of worms that can infect humans, and these feed on the nutrients in the body of their host.
  • Although worms can infect a person anytime and anywhere, there seem to be more cases of worm infections during the months when the weather is wet.
  • There are a lot of different kinds of worms that can infest a person’s body. Some of the more known parasites or worms include pinworms, hookworms, roundworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and flatworms.
  • Worms in a person’s body can cause havoc since these parasite burrow through the intestines, leave toxins in the body that can poison the system, and rob us of the nutrients that we need to remain healthy.
