What is Jock Itch or Tinea Cruris?:

Jock itch is a fungal infection caused by Trichophyton rubrum fungus. Jock itch rash starting from groin area advances to inner region of thigh causing the color of the skin to change red brown in color. Men are more frequently affected by this skin fungal infection than women. Another name for this infectious disease is tinea cruris.

Female Jock Itch:

Jock itch in women affects areas like genitals, buttocks, inner breasts with pink, scaly appearance. Growth of tinea cruris in female is due to combination of moisture and heat. Athletes are found to be more affected to this contagious infection. For preventing jock itch spread to the pubic area and other body parts, early detection and diagnosis is must.

Chronic Jock Itch:

After treatment of jock itch, if the infection reoccurs then it is said to be chronic jock itch. Since this skin problem is awkward, practicing healthy hygiene, keeping genital area dry all the times, and wearing clean clothing is must.
