Peptic Ulcer Causes | Reasons for Peptic Ulcer Disease

Peptic Ulcer Causes:

  • The main cause of peptic ulcer is irregular meals, overeating, as well as a knack for bedtime snacks. When one is eating meals at irregular intervals, the digestive system becomes offset especially when it comes to producing digestive juices. When digestive juices are released at irregular intervals, there is the high risk for an elevated acid in the stomach and intestine.
An even grave situation occurs when a person misses a meal. When this happens, the digestive juices that should have been used for burning the food instead acts on the walls of the stomach or in the intestine.
  • Another cause for having peptic ulcer is too much consumption of fatty and oily foods. These foods take a lot longer to digest, and they require a higher amount of digestive juices than normal. As a result, there is a higher acidity in the digestive tract.
  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are also known to cause peptic ulcer. These drugs are commonly used as pain relievers. Common examples include naproxen, ibuprofen, and aspirin.
Instead of taking them, one may instead opt to take topical applications to relieve pain, thereby avoiding the need to take medicines that may worsen peptic ulcer.
