Plantar Fasciitis Prevention Measures:
If you feel that you are at risk for getting plantar fasciitis, then there are a number of preventive measures that you can take on to avoid contracting the illness. As these measures are easy to do, you will have no problem in following them.- The wearing of proper footwear that should be comfortable, offer proper arch support, not loose, and has thick and well-cushioned soles.
- Losing weight so that the pressure on the plantar fascia cause by the extra pounds can be lessened.
- Moderate walking on wet grass done early in the morning can help in preventing plantar fasciitis. This might not be true to everyone though, so you must test yourself first if your pain will not worsen after a few minutes of light walking.
- If you really need to take a morning or an afternoon run, then be sure to do some stretching and warm-up exercises beforehand. This is to properly prepare your muscles for the rigors of the run. It is also very important if you do some stretching exercises after your run. This is to ensure that all your muscles are properly aligned and stretched out. If your body is not ready, then don’t push it harder than what it was prepared for.
