Oily HairOily hair can be treated with a combination of hair care and diet. Keep your hair as clean as possible, even if that means shampooing your hair everyday. Use a mild shampoo, and avoid conditioners, especially at the roots. If you must use a conditioner, use it only on the tips of your hair. If it is applied to the scalp, it can build up, aggravating the oily hair problem. When drying your hair, don’t over-use the blow dryer. Use it to remove most of the dampness, and then let the hair alone to dry by itself. Don’t brush your hair more than is necessary. Excess brushing will damage the hair. And don’t play with you hair or run your fingers through it. This only makes your hair greasier. Wash your combs and brushes regularly in soapy water. Diet and Oily HairAs would be expected, too many oily foods will cause oily hair. Avoid deep-fried foods, and eat more vegetables and fruit. Salads and steamed vegetables are a healthy way to go, and provide benefits beyond just gorgeous hair. Foods
which contain vitamin B5, vitamin B8, folic acid and calcium are all
good for your hair. These foods include leafy vegetables, dried fruits
and wheat germ. Be sure to include plenty of them in your diet. Follow
these tips and you will find your hair looking lustrous and shiny, and
oily hair will be ancient history.
