Cancer is a life threatening situation and tends to affect any organ in the body. The most effective way to manage cancer is early detection and treatment, though some forms of cancer cant be completely cured, early detection can improve the quality of life and survival rates.

The warning signs of cancer may depend upon the organ which is affected.
- Abdominal bloating
- Easy satiety and frequent sensation of fullness
- Frequent urination
- Breast enlargement or formation of lumps or nodules around the breast tissue
- Unintended weight loss
- Stripped nails
- Hoarseness or change in voice
Subtle signs of cancer
Except for a few rare forms of cancers and blood dyscracias, cancers normally emerge during the later part of life (i.e. beyond the age of 40 years). Lung cancer is the most common type of cancer followed by breast cancer (which is most common among females).
The subtle signs of cancer include persistent weight loss without any apparent cause. Loss of appetite, feeling of tiredness and weakness, etc.
Skin cancers are often associated with discoloration, ulceration or formation of moles on the skin which are characterized by irregular boundaries and are elevated over the skin.

Warning signs of cancer in women
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women which is characterized by lump or irregular swelling in the breast tissue. It can occasionally be associated with bleeding from the nipples and ulceration around the lump.
