Clogged sweat glands on a person’s feet may seem unlikely, but it does happen. And when it happens, it can be very painful.
When sweat glands in the feet are clogged, your feet may stink. In fact, the sweat is odorless, but the bacteria present on your feet react with your sweat to produce a foul smell.
Soaking your feet in warm water with salt may clear up some of the clogged pores and allow your feet to breathe more.
Sometimes, warts come out on the foot. These warts are challenging to remove. Scraping off the warts from the skin may cause skin damage, irritation and bleeding.
Clogged Sweat Glands Armpit
Blocked sweat glands in the armpits are very painful.
The blockage of sweat glands in the armpit is often caused by the buildup of dead skin cells as well as skin oil.
When sweat and oil have no outlet, the sweat glands are clogged, resulting in possible rashes or bumps.
Dabbing armpits using a washcloth that has warm water may open up the clogged pores.
Ensure that the wash cloth is just the right temperature. Sometimes an overheated washcloth may cause skin burns in the armpits which leads to more complications.
Putting some salt over the washcloth may also help unclog the bothersome sweat gland.
Hold the saltwater washcloth pressed gently to the affected area for at least five minutes in order to be effective.
Dry the new unclogged armpit using a soft cloth. Add some Iodine and Povidone solution to the swollen gland to obtain relief from swelling.
Symptoms of Clogged Sweat Glands
Most clogged sweat glands can be itchy or have dull and mild pain.
Sometimes, clogged or blocked sweat glands appear like small pustules that may hurt a little when pressed together.
There may be small red eruptions on the skin.
There could be some burning sensation in the armpits or feet.
You may have difficulty walking with clogged sweat glands in the feet.
Treatment for Clogged Sweat Glands
Some herbal remedies can unblock clogged sweat glands.
Drink several glasses of lime juice every day until the rashes or eruptions clear. Lime juice is also useful when the sweat glands of feet are clogged.
Drinking sugarcane juice on a daily basis may also help clear out clogged pores as this cools down the body heat. Other juices include watermelon juice, orange juice and pineapple juice.
Watermelon is considered as a useful home remedy for treating blocked sweat glands. It is easy to make watermelon pulp. Apply fresh watermelon pulp on your feet. The cooling effect of watermelon pulp helps unblock sweat glands of the feet.
Eating watermelon helps cool the body internally.
Allow your feet to breathe. Try to walk barefoot as and when possible. Wear socks that are specially designed to absorb sweat. Wear cotton socks.
Using topical solutions such as camphor extracts may work as a salve to help clear the clogged pores.
You can also use pumice stone to rub the surface of the foot. It helps get rid of dead skin cells on the outer layer of the sole. Use the pumice stone twice a week.
Cornstarch is an effective home remedy found in your kitchen cabinet for treating clogged sweat glands in the feet. Prepare cornstarch paste that is thick in consistency by mixing cornstarch powder and water. Apply it on the affected feet. Keep it for half hour till the paste dries off. Once the paste dries out, clean your feet with cool water. Apply the mixture two to three times in a week to unclog the sweat glands in your feet.
Paste prepared from Fuller’s Earth and water is also beneficial for treating clogged sweat glands in the feet. Apply the paste on your feet and keep it for thirty minutes until the paste dries. Clean your feet with cold water. Doing this twice a week helps unclog the pores in your feet.
