Dizziness is commonly referred to a slight impairment of perception and steadiness. Vertigo, presyncope, lightheadedness and disequilibrium are the common terms associated to this word whereas:
- Vertigo is when a person feels that his surrounding is spinning. A lot people claim that this is very alarming as this usually comes with nausea and vomiting.
- Disequilibrium is when a person loss his balance and this is characterized by recurrent falls only on one direction. People suffering from this may not experience any nausea and vomiting.
- Presyncope is the same as lightheadedness where it is associated with muscle weakness and people usually feel that they will faint.
- Lightheadedness is the common feeling of dizziness where one senses that he/she is about to faint. This could happen to one person in a regular or temporary basis. In some instances, one may feel that his/her head is very light.

- Low blood pressure: If a person experiences decrease in blood pressure there is a tendency that he or she will experience dizziness. This is caused by insufficient supply of oxygen to the brain.
- Dehydration: When one is suffering from diarrhea, excessive sweating and vomiting, he/she has the possibility to feel dizzy. This happens when a person has lost ample amount of water in his/her body.
- Medications: There are some medications that often cause one to feel dizzy. Drugs such as blood pressure medications, pain relievers, sedatives and antidepressants are known to cause dizziness.
- High blood pressure: People suffering from sudden rise in their blood pressure may experience headache, nausea and dizziness.

- Because many people experience imbalance when getting up suddenly, experts recommend that one should drink two glasses of water as this relieves dizziness.
- Ginger is a traditional cure for dizziness. Clinical studies have confirmed that ginger is very effective at reducing the feeling of unsteadiness. This is proven more efficient that most of the over the counter drugs being advertised.
- When there are no home remedies available, deep breathing always helps in stabilizing someone’s condition. This decreases someone’s breathing rate which is helpful in calming down the nerves and lessens the stress one is feeling.
