My wife had achalasia cardia in 2004. In 2009 she was operated and since then she is better and now able to eat food. She is very lean and thin just 50 kg(age 34) .The problem is, she has chest pain every now and then ,even at mid night or early morning. The pain seems to rotate in chest, neck, back, shoulder etc. She is completely exhausted as the pain lasts for 3 to 4 hours. The most worrying part is she is pregnant.

The symptoms that you mention may be that of early pregnancy such as morning sickness and hyperacidity. However, as she had history of Achalasia cardia, a condition where the food pipe becomes narrow and person finds difficulty in swallowing together with pain in chest, she needs to be examined by a gastroenterologist. Consult a good gastroenterologist inn your vicinity.

There are many reasons for chest pain. If chest pain is on left side the first probability is to rule out cardiac problem. You have not mentioned your age. The other reasons excluding cardiac problem can be costochondritis, it is pain associated with inflammation of muscles attached to the ribs. Mostly it occurs after lifting heavy objects or pushing heavy article like a table etc. Have you done X-ray of chest it may reveal any pathology of lungs if any. Meanwhile fomentation with hot water may help. Avoid lifting heavy objects.
