Diet rich in minerals like calcium, phosphorous, iodine, and magnesium and iron is important to aid an increase in height. Increase the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Limit the intake of foods like saturated fats and transfats which are difficult to digest and interfere with the absorption of other minerals.

Get maximum amount of sunlight exposure. Sunlight is considered to be the best source of Vitamin D which is important for the growth of bones. Avoid sunlight during the afternoons.     It is not possible to increase the height after 25 years with any pills or medicine, since in most cases the epiphyses of the long bone are fused. However, surgical procedures can increase the bone length, especially the leg bones. It is called cosmetic limb lengthening. The Technique is called Ilizarov frame work. It was discovered by professor Ilizarov from Russia. At least 5cm can be increased with this technique. Usually the shin bone is lengthened. It takes at least 6 months for the whole process. As with any procedure, there is an element of danger associated with this type of surgery.
    If a person does not prefer surgical operation, he can try wearing heeled shoes to look taller. Also wearing certain type of apparels can make him appear taller.

    I have heard about a method to grow height. It says that extra weight is put on a person’s foot for 1 to 2 hours a day and he is made to sit or lie without touching the ground. Is it possible to increase height by this method?

    I am 26, and my height is 4 ft. Is there any chance of increasing my height with the help of exercise? What about the medications that are advertised in newspapers? Can you suggest some ways to increase my height? Due to my short stature I am not selected after many interviews.

      Do not have low self esteem; height is not paramount to be successful. There are people with short stature who have risen to greater heights in their workplace and career. Positive attitude and confidence are the two key to be successful, rather than being tall. At the age of 26 you may not be able to increase your height by doing exercises or by taking medication. However, you can wear high heeled shoes that can make you look taller. It is a harsh fact, slim girls look taller. So stay slim. Sit and stand straight, it has an illusionary effect of being tall. Wear clothes that makes you look taller.

    My age is 23 and my height is 5 feet 4 inches. Between 12 to 16 years, my height grew rapidly but it then sudden stopped after 16 years. My question is, can I grow taller by 4 to 5 inches at this age if I do swimming and other exercises.

      This question if you would have asked when you were 16 or 17 it would have been effective. But at the age of 23 the chances of growing tall are feeble. However, there is nothing wrong in swimming or cycling. Exercise always helps your body in one way or the other.

    At the age of 18 to 19 the epiphyses of bone get fused. After that the bones stop growing in length. However, you can try swimming and cycling; even if your height does not increase it will help you to remain fit.

    I am 25 plus and my height is 5feet 7inches. I want to grow 2 more inches. To increase my height I just found some stretching exercises on youtube. Can you tell me the possibilities of increasing my height by doing these stretching exercises? What is the time required for the workout. How many days I need to do these exercises to increase my height by 2 inches? Which types of stretching exercises are preferable and the time to do those and how many days it might take. The type of fruits and food I need to take?

      After the age of 18 the epiphyses of bones fuse together and there is no possibility to increase the height in a natural way even with exercise. However, exercise will keep you fit and improve your posture. This may be additional benefit for you to appear tall. There is no fruit or food known to increase height, but at the same time, eating these foods can improve your all over health.
