  • A feeling of constantly having something stuck in the eye
  • A feeling of pain and irritation that causes the person or child to want to scratch his or her eye constantly
  • A reddish color covers most of the whites of the eye.
  • When a child or a baby is suffering from this problem, constantly blinking or touching the affected eye commonly manifests.

  • Rinse out the eye with the use of a saline solution.
  • Avoid touching or scratching the eye that is affected.

  • Place a sterile patch over the eye to keep your child from touching it while it heals,
  • For adults, sinking the head in a basin of water can also help relieve the discomfort of scratched eye.
  • Ophthalmologists may recommend the use of eye drops to clean the eye from bacteria that may cause infection.
