While some people say that bursitis should be taken care of by a doctor, if your bout with bursitis is not that serious, you can actually try a few home remedies to help you get rid of the pain that you are feeling with it. Here are some home remedies you can try:
- A hot and cold compress can help with bursitis. Swelling is always easily brought down by an ice pack so placing an ice pack on the swollen area can help bring down the inflammation as well as ease some of the pain found there. When doing this however, put a piece of cloth or a clean towel between the skin and the ice. When you find that the bump is gone, you will then need to use hot compress on the area that was affected to get rid of excess fluid that may be found there.
- Make yourself a cayenne pepper and apple cider vinegar mixture to wipe over the infected area,
- Heated olive oil can also help with bursitis problems. Simply warm half a cup of olive oil and rub this over the affected area.
- Apple cider vinegar mixed with honey is also said to help with bursitis. Instead of the usual smearing of this mixture over the infected area, you actually drink this one to help with the ailment.
