The prevention of bursitis is actually easy if you know what needs to be done before exerting yourself. When exercising, it is advisable to stretch your muscles and other parts of the body to avoid injuries and straining yourself. This is also true when it comes to preventing bursitis. Stretching before exertion can help ease your body into the activity you are going to do.

  • When you find that your bursitis happens in particular parts of your body over and over again when you do certain things, like kneeling or carrying heavy things, try to modify these activities to avoid the pressure that is felt on these parts of your body when you do these things.
  • Do not try to do things repetitively over a long period of time without taking short rests or breaks in between. Resting in between certain activities that are somewhat repetitive will help you avoid bursitis.
  • Flexibility is important when you want to avoid bursitis therefore flexibility activities like yoga is encouraged. Slowly ease yourself into routines that will make you feel flexible and you will soon find that you are no longer suffering from pain in these areas.
  • Stretching is also a good way to help yourself get rid of bursitis problems and increase your flexibility.
