Cough Home Remedies
When you have a cough that is not associated with a serious ailment, you can actually try some of these home remedies to get some relief:
- To stop cough, cut a lemon in quarters and get a slice. Sprinkle some salt and fine ground pepper on this slice and suck it.
- White pepper and honey mixed together can also be used to help with your cough. Just add a small pinch of the fine white pepper powder to a teaspoon of honey and take this remedy three times a day.
- Another home remedy for cough is made by combining a quarter of a teaspoon each of ground ginger and red pepper with a mixture made with two teaspoons of water and a tablespoon each of apple cider vinegar and honey. A teaspoon of this remedy when you have a cough will help ease your problem.
- Onions can also be used to help with easing coughs. Simply puree a peeled onion and mix this juice with some honey. Take this mixture as you would any cough syrup. This will ease your cough if you take this mixture three times a day.
To cure cough, keeping hot towel or application of turmeric paste over chest, steam inhalation, and sipping hot water helps in providing relief. For treating cough, mustard oil, jaggery and intake of hot water mixed with garlic is beneficial. Soaked almond paste mixed with butter and sugar is also an effective treatment for cough.
Wet Cough Treatment
To treat wet cough, take steamy showers and provide complete rest to the body and drink hot soups and restrict intake of antidepressants like coffee.
Dry Cough Remedy
Intake of cuscus grass mixed with coconut milk or tea made using aniseed and holy basil is effective in curing dry cough.
