Dandruff Home Treatments
There are a number of effective home remedies for dandruff. While you cannot totally cure dandruff since it does not have a real cure, you can actually minimize the recurrence of this problem with these solutions:
- You can get rid of flaky build-up on your scalp and in your hair by using aloe vera extract on your scalp. Before you shower and clean your scalp with a gentle shampoo, break open a leaf from the aloe vera plant and rub the sticky liquid inside all over your scalp. Leave this on for fifteen to twenty minutes then proceed to wash your hair.
- Mix together some almond oil and some olive oil and apply on your scalp. Leave this mixture on your head until you feel the burning and heating sensation that this combination brings. Wash it off with the use of mild shampoo and warm water.
- Olive oil alone can be used to help prevent the growth of dandruff on your head and to remove any flakes that may already be there. Just apply the olive oil on your scalp before bedtime and wrap in a towel. Wash this off in the morning with a mild shampoo.
- A paste made with some lime juice and crushed or pureed garlic can also be used to treat dandruff. Just apply this mixture to your scalp or other parts that have dandruff, leave for a few minutes, and rinse off.
Dandruff Remedies
To get rid of dandruff, soak fenugreek seeds in water at night and then make a fine paste in the morning and apply it on the hair followed by washing with soap-nut. This helps to clear dandruff from hair. To treat dandruff naturally, application of emu oil or cider vinegar mixed with an equal quantity of water is beneficial. Shampooing hair with tea tree oil based shampoo and hot oil treatment helps to prevent excessive flakes on scalp and make hair soft and shiny.
