White patches are commonly known as dandruff. It is one of the many scalp diseases that occur on every person’s scalp. It is a condition where a person’s scalp sheds white flakes that can be visibly seen by the naked eye. White patches are unpleasant to see since it denotes unhygienic habit.

White patches are usually caused by applying too much hair care products on the scalp. Hair gel or wax that stayed overnight on the scalp will eventually dry up. This may cause bacteria to build-up white patches or dandruff.

  • Apply oil on the scalp and gently rub it with a soft tip brush. Cover the hair with a shower cap after oil is applied on the scalp.

  • Lime is also considered an effective treatment to get rid of dandruff.

  • Mixing lemon juice with egg and applying mixture on the scalp can also control dandruff.

  • Another effective home remedy is a mixture of lemon peels, cumin seeds, peppercorns, garlic flakes, boiled in coconut oil.

  • Margosa leaves boiled in water can also be applied on the scalp.
