Home Remedies for Diaper Rash
Once diaper rash is detected, the first thing that a parent should do is to make the baby more comfortable. While one may find an impulse to clean the rashes to avoid possible infection, one should weigh this option carefully because a baby may not be able to cope with the pain that may result from trying to clean the rash.
The following are some of the natural cure for diaper rash:
- One common method that somehow alleviates the pain associated with diaper rash is to hold the baby in front of an electric fan with the affected part directly facing the rush of air. This will take away the sting from the rash while providing the toddler with a spectacle to amuse himself with. However, do not hold the baby’s face before the fan as it may take the baby’s breath or they may poke their fingers into the turning blades, causing them more injuries.
- Give the baby a warm water bath then apply pure aloe vera gel on the rash. The soothing and healing effect of aloe vera will do wonders in healing the baby’s diaper rash.
Diaper Rash Remedy
Washing the infant’s bottom with warm water and applying vegetable oil or paste of starch and vaseline on the diaper before putting them on is effective. To treat diaper rash, putting unwrapped tea bags in the infant’s diaper or applying neem paste or lotion made using olive, tea tree and lavender oil is beneficial. Washing the affected area with oatmeal bath and applying cooking lard or cream containing calendula and Vitamin E shows positive result in treating diaper rash.
