  • Drink lots of water several times per day to avoid dehydration. Fluids that have electrolytes, like sports drinks, can be taken along with oral dehydration solution. This solution is created using a teaspoon of salt and eight teaspoons of sugar that are mixed in a liter of water.

  • Drink buttermilk. This can enhance production of good bacteria in the intestines, provide new set of nutrients that have been lost, and prevent dehydration.

  • Take a paste that is made from pomegranate seeds and raisins, added with a pinch of salt.

  • Foods that can help ease symptoms of the condition include yogurt, apple, carrots, pomegranate, and mint. These also help prevent dehydration.

  • Raw papaya that is boiled and strained can be taken.

  • Application of ginger juice along the navel area can effectively provide relief in children and babies.

  • Unsweetened black tea can also be taken.

  • Consume ginger juice together with water.

  • Stew an apple and add two pinches of nutmeg powder and a teaspoon of sugar. This is a sweet treat for children that can also cure symptoms.
