ENT Disorder Causes:
The causes of the many different ENT disorders often depend on what disorder the person is suffering from. There are a lot of reasons why a person may be suffering from a particular disorder. There are a few categories of causes that are common among all three though and here are these categories:
- One of the possible reasons why a person may suffer from an ear, nose, or throat infection is due to fungal infections or the presence of fungi.
- Another possible reason why a person may suffer from various ENT disorders is the presence of bacteria in these parts of the body. Examples of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, and throat include otitis media where the ear canal may be infected by bacteria, and nasal vestibulitis where the bacteria called Staphylococcus aureus infects the nasal cavities due to nose picking. Strep throat caused by the Streptococcus bacterium can also be an example of a bacterial disorder.
- Viruses also causes ear, nose, and throat problems. Some of the problems that are caused by viruses include vestibular neuritis and labyrinthitis for the ears, the common cold, and the flu are part of the list of nasal viral problems and throat problems that are caused by viruses may include sore throat and tonsillitis.
