Female Sterility Causes

There are a lot of reasons why a woman cannot conceive or cannot carry a baby to full term. Some of these reasons may be due to illnesses, timing, or even stress and diet. Here are some of the reasons why a woman may not be able to have a baby:

  • A woman may be suffering from certain ovulation disorders that make it either difficult or impossible to get pregnant.
    Some of the ovulation problems that women may experience include polycystic ovarian syndrome, premature ovarian failure, luteal phase defect, and abnormal secretion of LH and FSH.
  • Another problem that a woman may have that makes it difficult to have a baby is when her fallopian tubes are damaged. This may be brought about by salpingitis due to previous bouts with chlamydia or gonorrhea, surgery, and ectopic pregnancies in the past.
  • Endometriosis, the narrowing of the cervical canal and myomas, can also be cited as reasons for why a woman may find it hard to bear a child or to bring one successfully to full term.
  • Sometimes there are cases when a man and a woman cannot conceive as a couple yet when they are with other partners; they find that they can have children with these other people.
    There are cases where infertility and sterility is unexplainable, and women find themselves with a child after thinking that they were sterile.

Women Infertility Causes

Failure in ovulation can cause due to the scarring, infection or damage to the ovary resulting in follicles not maturing properly. Anovulation causes due to premature menopause and there is also an increased chance in athlete’s women facing problem conceiving. Abdominal disorders such as appendicitis, colitis and congenital defects like septate uterus and abnormal uterus can also cause problem in conceiving. Problem in women’s cervical mucus can also cause infertility in women.
