Flatulence Causes:

What causes a person to develop problems with flatulence? Sometimes flatulence is an occurrence that is caused by natural elements. Sometimes it is caused by diet and lifestyle. Other times it is caused by ailments that create gas in a person’s stomach. Here are some of the possible reasons why a person may suffer from flatulence:

  • Eating foods that are known to create gas in your stomach is one of the main reasons why a person may have flatulence.
    The food that increases stomach gases includes certain vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts, asparagus, and onions. Fruits like apples and pears as well as peaches are also culprits when gas is produced in your abdomen.
  • Other foods that are known to cause flatulence include chewing gum, whole grain cereals, and products made from whole grain flour, fizzy drinks or carbonated drinks and beans.
  • Ailments that are known to increase the production of gas in your stomach that can then lead to flatulence include Crohn’s disease, dyspepsia and diarrhea, and constipation. Lactose intolerance and consuming foods with lactose when you have this condition also causes flatulence.
  • You can also blame excessive swallowing of air due to strong winds, eating too fast, smoking, and anxiety for your flatulence.
