Causes of Tennis Elbow Problem | Reasons for Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow Causes:

The problem called tennis elbow is said to be caused by repetitive motions of a person’s wrist, like when he plays tennis or racket ball, which is why the muscle in the arm gets strained and the tendon fibers in the arm suffers from degeneration. There are a number of possible activities that can cause lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow and here are some of them:

  • Playing tennis a certain way does give a person tennis elbow, and some of the moves that does this includes the one-handed backhand that is done without proper form, a late forehand swing that results in a person bending his wrist a certain way, and a full power serve swing that snaps and turns the wrist.
  • Other activities that do not have anything to do with tennis but can bring about tennis elbow include the use of such tools like screwdrivers and hammers. Hedge clipping and even painting constantly can also cause this problem to a person’s arm.
  • Any activity where a person needs to constantly grip or squeeze a particular tool or object can cause lateral epicondylitis or tennis elbow. Gardening, plumbing, weaving, and even the constant raking of your lawn or backyard can cause this problem to occur.
