How to Prepare Vaginal Douche at Home

There are basically two types of vaginal douche solutions namely an acidifier (vinegar) and a buffer (baking soda).

Vinegar Douche:

  • Ingredients: apple cider vinegar and water at room temperature
  • Device needed: douche bag or vaginal bulb syringe
  • Mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar into two cups of water at room temperature

Baking Soda Douche:

  • Believed to increase the alkaline pH of the vagina.
  • Belief: Increases the probability of a male child.
  • Ingredients: Baking soda and distilled water
  • Device needed: douche bag or vaginal bulb syringe
  • Mix one teaspoon of baking soda into a glassful or warm distilled water and allow to mix well.

  • Tea Tree Oil Douche
  • General Hygiene Douche with herbs (peppermint, yarrow, or rosemary)
  • Garlic Douche
