There are three basic reasons for clogged pores on chin; Improper facial skin hygiene, genetics, dehydration of skin, excess of oil secretion.

Excess of Oil Secretion: oil or sebum as it is called is produced by the sebaceous glands to keep your skin smooth and soft. It also helps to keep your skin moist.

Increase in oil production from the glands either due to hereditary reason or due to hormonal changes that occur during adolescence, pregnancy, when a person is under stress etc can trigger formation of clogged pores.

Dehydration can stimulate the sebaceous glands to produce excess amount of oil to keep the skin healthy and moist. Dehydration and dryness of chin and face can occur with use of certain cosmetic products. Your chin and face can also become dry due to exposure to extreme dry climate. Your skin can also become dehydrated with internal reasons such as fevers and diarrhea. All the above factors are responsible for clogged spores on chin.

Improper cleaning of face and chin can leave dirt and dead skin cells on the skin surface and in the pores. Bacteria present on the skin surface can infect the clogged pores and give rise to acne and pimples.

Cosmetic products containing chemicals, oil, and pigments can be trapped in the pores. The pores become big leading to blackheads and acne. Make it a point to clean your makeup before going to bed as the dirt and grime together with makeup may seep into the pores and clog them.
